Just last night, we had a practice where it was all about knee falls, four-point falls, rock star slides, etc. and these make it easy to fall and recover very quickly. They provide a good layer of padding without being so thick that it begins to affect crossover skating. ![]() By Lois Dacus (Pagosa Springs, Colorado) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Triple 8 Pads KP-22 Knee Pads (Sports) I skate women's roller derby and chose this pad over the Killer 187 pads due to it having a smaller size and lower price and I thought it would do the job. We do lots of of one-knee and two-knee falls. I had to search the Internet to find out the best size, as Amazon doesn't have that info. The design is a bit strange. Under the elastic straps with velcro there is a fabric strap on each side, both above and below the knee, which velcros together, but they made it so short it is hard to fasten. It also gets stuck to the elastic/velcro strap that goes over it while you are putting it on, so it takes a little getting used to. The elastic/velcro strap over it goes through a hook and then comes back to fasten, a good design but the strap is too long, which means little of the velcro fastens to the pad and a lot of the velcro is sticking out while you're skating, waiting to get stuck on something else. I am going to cut some of the elastic out to shorten it and improve the design... These pads, mine are large, are way too small adults. They are uncomfortable and clunky. The knee pads are definitely the worst and extremely restrictive of movement. I found myself extremely frustrated with their performance and wish my parents had saved their money, or the receipt. |
