I haven't tried to convert them to inline yet, but it doesn't seem too complicated - and all the tools are included. My daughters LOVE to try to use them, though they haven't mastered skating yet :)  Skates ok. The bag, which is advertised as a tote bag for the equipment and has built in handles, was completely shredded upon arrival so that when I took it out of the box everything fell out of the bag.
